First off welcome to my blog. I would like to begin by proposing the idea that the 13-17 crowd is the future of America. We will be the workforce, the leaders, and the philosophers of tomorrow's USA. We are the ones that are responsible for restoring the country to it's former glory. Currently, we are over ten trillion dollars in national debt and rising at the alarming rate of nearly 3.5 billion dollars a day. What can we do about it? We could offer solutions to the problem. We could attempt to bring about change. We could let everybody know how we feel about what is going on. But would people listen?
This is how the idea started: I was talking with my g/f about how depressing the current state of the nation is, and I brought up the thought, "why do we, the future of America, not have a say in the current America?" So I had a thought: why not create a school organization to discuss issues similar to this one. The next day, I wrote down a general description of what would happen. It included meeting and discussing ideas, researching facts, organizing our findings, brainstorming solutions, and publishing to blogs such as this or making videos and posting on YouTube, MySpace, or even sending in to broadcasting corporations. Nearly all of the students I spoke to were interested, and by the end of the day, we had thirty students and a teacher interested. We then went to speak to our principal, Dr. Bob Eddy, who also liked the idea. So we are currently getting our thoughts together and working towards being the co-founders of Teen Voice America.
My goal with co-founding this organization is to give people like us a voice, to give the teenage crowd an opinion. If there are any ideas to discuss, here is a grand place to do so. So give it a go, and let your opinion be known!!!
